I don’t know how, but Jibble had initially escaped my radar when considering timesheet software. However, after thoroughly testing it and integrating it with Ubiqod, I’m impressed — it’s probably one of the best tracking tools I’ve ever tried, offering unbelievable value for money.

To illustrate the potential of this solution for sectors like cleaning, facility management, and broadly speaking, deskless workforce activity tracking, I explored their product roadmap. One interesting feature I found under the “Under Consideration” category was Beacon Tracking:

Beacon tracking with Jibble under consideration.

Let’s make it real today.

Our Goal: Connect the “Hands-Free” Beacon Tracking System, Clock R, to Jibble to automate timesheet updates in real time.

This setup can be similarly applied to other devices like the wireless Clock S or the secured QR code Ubiqod Key. For the purpose of this tutorial, I will use Make to make to link Clock R and Jibble.

Message to the Jibble Team: We LOVE your product and would be ecstatic to develop a native connector.

Using Make for this demonstration is simple because Jibble allows the separation of Clock In and Clock Out actions. The setup in Make works as follows:

Make scenario to add beacon tracking to Jibble

Data arriving from Ubiqod is pushed to Jibble based on the clocking direction, identified by data references (1 for arrival, 2 for departure).

The Clock In filter in Make looks like this:

Make filter for Clocking In

The configuration of the Clock In Action works as follow (same for Clock Out):

Here, we configured the Activity ID manually. We also added the site geolocation.

The mapping between the user beacon (the badge) and the employee ID in Jibble is handled via External references in Ubiqod:

Each time a beacon of an employee is detected on-site, the following information is sent along with the direction (IN/OUT):

  • Site Location
  • Activity
  • Employee ID
  • Time

We could also set up tracking for Projects and Clients.

What do you get with this Jibble setup?

Real time timesheet updates

This feature is highly sought after and justifies using Jibble on its own. And the best part: it’s free, regardless of the number of users.

Activity/Site Tracking (paid feature)

For many cleaning and facility services companies, tracking time by activity and site is crucial. This capability is available with Jibble, but it’s a paid feature.

I plan to test other promising features soon, including:

  • Advanced Work Schedule (1 free)
  • Live Map (paid feature)
  • Shift scheduling (paid feature)
